Now, the 30-year-old sister of the Duchess of Cambridge is talking about that dress for the first time on television.
In a chat that aired Monday morning on The Today Show, the younger Middleton admitted the attention caught her a little off guard.
“It was completely unexpected,” she told Matt Lauer. “I think the plan was not really for it to be a significant dress, really. Just to sort of blend in with the train.”
And just in case anyone was wondering, her bridesmaid dress isn’t stored in a special time capsule container or museum.
“It’s actually in my wardrobe at home,” said Middleton. “Haven’t worn it since. But I think I’ll just keep it there. It’s the sort of thing I’m sure I’ll bring it if someone wanted to see it, or my children one day wanted to see it . . . but yeah, it’s tucked away.”
The party planner and writer also talked about what she called “the longest week” of her life — when she completed a 3,000-mile bike trip across 12 states for Race Across America.
“I love sport and health and I found it was a very good charity for me to be associated with and I was amazed to hear that three times more women die of heart disease than of breast cancer and I don’t think people know much about that and I wanted to, as a woman, support it and be behind it,” she told Lauer.
