Professor Brendan Stone, who recently made a short video of one of the world’s last remaining hand manufacturer of scissors, does his best to answer that for curious minds.
The star of this nearly 5-minute clip is Cliff Denton, a putter from Ernest Wright & Sons of Sheffield. There’s no dialogue, just the sounds of the hammering, sharpening and fine-tuning a tool we all probably haven’t used in a while.
