Once in a while, a video (music video, trailer, compilation of animals) will come along and take your breath away.

This is one of those videos.

Before you get all "Why should I waste my time on this video?" and launch the latest Zac Efron dance clip on Instagram, think about the last time you used scissors. Ever wonder how these beautiful sheers are made?

Professor Brendan Stone, who recently made a short video of one of the world’s last remaining hand manufacturer of scissors, does his best to answer that for curious minds.

The star of this nearly 5-minute clip is Cliff Denton, a putter from Ernest Wright & Sons of Sheffield. There’s no dialogue, just the sounds of the hammering, sharpening and fine-tuning a tool we all probably haven’t used in a while.

Here’s “The Putter”:

I’ll never look at my plastic 3M and Fiskars scissors the same again.
