Katie Holmes Goes Topless for Glamour Magazine
The brunette beauty, who was interviewed by designer Zac Posen for the mag, opened up about her life in the Big Apple as a single mom to 8-year-old daughter Suri, and how her family helps keep her grounded.
Holmes, who started filming Woman in Gold with Helen Mirren and Ryan Reynolds last month, loves living in Manhattan. The Ohio native moved to New York City after splitting from husband Tom Cruise two years ago. “I love being able to experience so many cultural things in one day. I live very close to the gallery district, and then at night I’ll find myself at Lincoln Center at a ballet,” Holmes said, adding that she loves “going to Knicks games” and “taking the subway.”
Perhaps the city life provides a bit of normalcy the Dawson’s Creek star craved after filing from divorce from her megastar ex, who was reportedly blindsided by Holmes’ request to end their five-year marriage.
The youngest of five children, Holmes is very close to her family. “My family has been so crucial to my outlook on life. I started acting at 17 and had success at an early age, where all of a sudden people knew who I was. But my parents always treated me the exact same way at home and reminded me of gratitude. And that’s been a grounding force.”
But clearly the most important person in Katie’s life is her mini me Suri. “When I became a mother, my life completely changed. I’ve seen Frozen a lot. But the biggest change? I think you don’t know — I didn’t know — how much love I had in me. It’s overwhelming. Every day I discover more about this spectacular human being I get to be the mother of.”
