Here’s your first look at Ridley Scott’s latest epic film Exodus: Gods and Kings.

No, Russell Crowe isn’t going to appear from a dark corner and save everyone, but it sure feels like he’ll show up, eventually.

Exodus, which will mark Scott’s third film in three years, finds Christian Bale and Joel Edgerton as Moses and Rhamses, respectively, in biblical times.

Once again, it looks like viewers are in for solid CGI action, thousands of extras and some major battle scenes.

Sigourney Weaver, as Tuya, wife of Seti, appears in a blink-and-you’ll-miss-her moment in the preview. Aaron Paul apparently stars as Joshua, along with John Turturro as Seti and Ben Kingsley as Nun, but all three were left out of the trailer.

Exodus: Gods and Kings arrives in theaters nationwide on Dec. 12.
