Through the Years: Katherine Heigl's Career Evolution

Katherine Heigl became one of our favorite TV-doctors in 2005 playing Dr. Izzie Stevens on Grey's Anatomy, but she had a long career path before sky rocketing to fame in that role.

The actress--who started off as a model--made her on-screen debut in 1992 at just 14-years-old in the film That Night.  From there, she continued a career in both film and television, taking her first lead role in 1994 comedy My Father the Hero.

As of late, there has been quite a bit of drama surrounding the 27 Dresses actress.  After she made controversial remarks about her film Knocked Up and withdrew her name for Emmy consideration in 2008 by essentially bashing the Grey's writers, she's lost quite a bit of friends in the industry.  Many say she is one of the most difficult actresses to work with--though she denies that opinion.

However, she still continues landing big roles--currently acting in and producing NBC's State of Affairs--despite the controversy.
