Lauren Conrad Realizes That She's a "Basic Bitch"
It's not a good day for Lauren Conrad.
Despite amassing hundreds of followers for being the unofficial Queen of Twee, the reality star-turned-fashion designer has been called out by a major beauty publication for being -- gasp! -- a "basic bitch." (For those who are unfamiliar with the lingo, a basic bitch is someone who is "extra regular" with no personality whatsoever. Essentially, it's a pretty harsh burn, especially when used against someone who makes their living out of being pretty and creating cutesy things.)
On Monday, the former The Hills starlet shared a photo of an Allure article accompanied by a photo of Conrad
throwing shade detailing what a basic person would wear. It read, "Made famous by Kreayshawn, and viral by YouTube, the Basic woman is remarkably unremarkable. What's noteworthy about her style is its very plainness. Except to her. She swears those red soled shoes are cutting-edge."
Conrad shot back:
I definitely just got called a basic b*tch! Haha! Sausage curls!? Really @Allure_magazine? pic.twitter.com/m7CsNqvU0ZAww, don't you worry, girl. At least you made $25 million off of being basic.
