As if we needed another reason to get excited about the next Hunger Games movie, Lionsgate has just announced that Lorde has been hired to curate the soundtrack for Mockingjay – Part 1.

This means the girl with the pretty and big hair will get to handpick each and every song that will make us get all emotional and inspired about Katniss Everdeen and company.

Lorde, 17, will also release a new song as the soundtrack first single.

Following the announcement, the Grammy Award winning artist took to her Tumblr to share her excitement:

to be at the helm of a project like this is easily the most responsibility i’ve ever had, and to me, that says something kind of amazing about the way the world is changing – a globally successful film franchise is allowing a teenager to run their shit. we are opening doors, we are moving walls. this makes me so insanely happy.

the first single from the soundtrack is a brand new song i wrote with joel. to use a really bad pun, it’s fire.

love you so much. thanks for all you’ve given me. can’t wait to tell you more.

Dearest Ella was previously involved with the Catching Fire soundtrack, covering a darker, slower version of Tears for Fears’ “Everybody Wants to Rules The World.”

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 opens in theaters on Nov. 21.
