Metta World Peace (Ron Artest) is Reportedly Changing His Name Again
Metta World Peace, the basketball player formerly known as Ron Artest, is apparently Metta no more.
Earlier this week, the 34-year-old signed a deal with the Sichuan Blue Whale Basketball Club in China. In honor of his move to the Chinese Basketball Association, Metta is looking into the cute animals department for name inspiration.
According to China Daily, the former Knicks and Lakers star has his eyes set on “Panda Friend” as his new name.
That’s right, Panda Friend.
And it looks like the hype surrounding the 6-foot-4 forward has (finally) reached the man himself on Twitter.
Wait until you guys see my first game;) you think the name is buzzing… Wow!!! Lol. Please stay tuned!!!

Does this mean Metta has kinda sorta confirmed his name change? Here’s another telling retweet of Chrissy Teigen’s (bless you, Chrissy Teigen) excitement about Panda Friend:
Panda Friend is the best thing that will happen to me today, @MettaWorldPeace. Probably all month.
