Celine Dion is putting her family first.

On Wednesday, the Canadian superstar announced on her official website that she will be postponing all of her shows “indefinitely” in order to care for her husband Rene Angelil, their family and “associated health issues.”

According to the press release, Dion’s 72-year-old husband had surgery in December to remove a cancerous tumor and has been fighting the disease ever since.

Dion herself has also been fighting an inflammation in her throat muscles, a condition that has caused the 46-year-old singer to cancel her Las Vegas shows since July 29.

The “Power of Love” singer, who began her second Las Vegas residency at Caesars Palace in 2011 (and recently extended her contract to 2019), also issued a statement on Wednesday:

“I want to devote every ounce of my strength and energy to my husband’s healing, and to do so, it’s important for me to dedicate this time to him and to our children. I also want to apologize to all my fans everywhere, for inconveniencing them, and I thank them so much for their love and support.”

Dion and Angelil, who will celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary this December, are parents to three young children.

The singer’s Las Vegas shows have been canceled until further notice. Dion’s upcoming fall tour in Asia — her first in the continent since 2008 — has also been canceled.
