Allison Tolman Talks 'Fargo's' "Insane" Year
Just a little over year ago, the 32-year-old was still looking for an acting gig that would help her pay the bills. Now, she's nominated for an Emmy for her first-ever series regular role on the FX drama.
"It's insane," Tolman told Celebuzz about her year at the annual BAFTA TV Tea on Saturday. "A year ago, just the idea of getting an acting job that was going to pay me money to quit my other job was the most amazing concept ever."
She continued, "For it to be then this series that was so much fun to make, and so good, and so well-loved, and now so well-represented in awards season is just like every moment is the one better before it."
Though she's nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Miniseries or Movie alongside Hollywood heavy-hitters like Julia Roberts, Kathy Bates, and Angela Bassett, Tolman has been taking it things easy. According to her, she had to find out about her Emmys nod like the rest of us plebs: through Google search.
"We watched the little broadcast where they announced the nominees but my category was not on there so my boyfriend and I kind of panicked. We started Googling to try and find a complete list," she recalled. "We eventually found one and celebrated. [We had] a mimosa, he went to work, and I spent the day on the phone doing interviews."
She added, "It was a good day."
