Miley Cyrus Doesn’t Want to Die a Popstar, Retires From Twerking
While I sort of loved the twerking, rebellious Miley Cyrus, it looks like the 21-year-old singer has hit a new personal era, realizing how much her extreme fame can impact the world… And now she wants to use it for good.
She made her first big move toward bettering the world at the Video Music Awards when she sent her date Jesse up on stage to accept her Video of the Year award to make a touching speech and raise awareness about homelessness.
But what exactly made her decide it was time to change?
AP on Monday, following her special VMA moment with Jesse.
“And I thought, you know, rather than sit here and talk about, ‘Oh, on every news cover, every time you go to AOL or wherever you go everybody’s sitting there talking about me,’ instead of using it as a negative, how can I use it as a positive?”
So she turned to raising awareness in her charitable endeavor in youth homelessness, and it paid off way more than twerking on stage with Robin Thicke.
Not to mention, she adds: “I mean, dying a pop star is not what I want to have on my tombstone.”
However, outside of her philanthropic work, she still continues to better her music… And a part of that has been stepping away from her “twerking” persona.
She added, “It’s not about twerking. It’s about the music.”
So what do you think of Miley’s new change? Sound off in the comments below!
