Jake T. Austin Shows Off Abs, Does Shirtless Push-Ups for Flaunt Magazine
In the accompanying article Jake talks about his upcoming role as Huckleberry Finn in Jo Kastner’s new adaptation, voice work and his favorite food!
You play the role of Huckleberry Finn in Jo Kastner’s new adaptation. What similarities do you and your character share?
Between Huck and myself, I think the similarities would be that we are both adventurous and creative risk takers. Huck Finn is always looking for and exploring new places.
You’ve lent your voice to several characters. What is it about this form of acting that you dig so much?
When you’re able to just lend your voice to an animated role I feel like it gives the actor an opportunity to bring more of a performance, even though you can’t be seen…it gives you the opportunity to really take hold of the character.
Your mother is Puerto Rican. You’ve got to have a favorite comfort food.
Bacalao! It’s a fried fish stew (usually salted cod fish) and it’s one of my favorite traditional Puerto Rican dishes because of the freshness of the fish you can get while on the island.
