U.S. ‘X-Factor’ Contestant Simone Battle Dies from Apparent Suicide: Report

Of course Joan Rivers had already planned her lavish funeral.
It’s a sad day for music fans.

Simone Battle, of the girl group G.R.L., has reportedly committed suicide in her Los Angeles home.

According to TMZ, Battle’s body was discovered early on Friday, around 8:30 in the morning, hanging from a rod in her bedroom closet. It doesn’t appear an autopsy has been completed as of yet and there is no mention of a note.

The 25-year-old singer made a name for herself on the U.S. version of The X-Factor in 2011, ultimately making the top 17 before being eliminated.

After attempting to make a solo career for herself, Battle joined Robin Antin’s Pussycat Doll reduex…which eventually evolved into its own group called G.R.L.

And, as is to be expected, the other ladies of G.R.L. have taken to Twitter to express their heartache over the loss of their friend.
