Melissa Rivers Speaks Out for the First Time Since Joan Rivers’ Funeral

Of course Joan Rivers had already planned her lavish funeral.
Melissa Rivers can’t express her gratitude enough for the outpouring of love and support in the last three weeks since her mom Joan Rivers passed away.

The comedienne’s daughter took to her WhoSay late Wednesday to speak out for the first time since Joan’s funeral and thank everyone who has been reaching out.

She wrote, “As my son Cooper and I mourn the loss of my mother, we want to thank everyone for the beautiful cards and flowers conveying heartfelt messages and condolences, which continue to arrive from around the world and through social media. My mother would have been overwhelmed by the scope and depth of the love that people have expressed for her. It is certainly helping to lift our spirits during this time.

We are forever grateful for your kindness and support in continuing to honor my mother’s legacy, and for remembering the joy and laughter that she brought to so many.”

The last Melissa spoke out was at Joan’s star-studded funeral service on Sept. 7 in which she delivered a hilarious, heartfelt letter to her late mother.

The message comes just a day after reports emerged that Joan’s doctor had taken a selfie with his patient just before performing an unplanned biopsy without her consent.

Joan passed away at the age of 81 after going into cardiac arrest during the surgery.
