Jennifer Lawrence, Backstage Kissing and Other Things You Didn’t See at the iHeartRadio Music Festival
The annual iHeartRadio Music Festival made its return at the MGM Grand Arena this year with Taylor Swift, One Direction, Nicki Minaj, Iggy Azalea, Ariana Grande, Ed Sheeran and more hitting the stage. While all eyes were on the performers at the sold-out two-day event, Celebuzz was hanging out with your favs backstage, bringing you the scoop on all the things that weren’t seen during the concert’s livesteam (and probably won’t see again when The CW airs it on TV this Monday and Tuesday night).
Here was what was happening behind-the-scenes at the 2014 iHeartRadio Music Festival.
1. Jennifer Lawrence Shows Love for Boyfriend Chris Martin
Though the couple have not officially confirmed their relationship yet, things between the couple were certainly heating up this weekend. Jennifer Lawrence flew to Las Vegas with her rumored new beau to check out his performance with Coldplay on Friday night. The twosome were spotted hanging out together at the backstage area before the Oscar winner was ushered to her seat for Chris Martin’s big show.
2. Plenty of Backstage PDA
Love was in the air in Las Vegas over the weekend. Celebrity couple Chris Pratt and Anna Faris made no attempt to hide their PDA, cuddling on the red carpet before sharing kisses while walking to their green room.
3. Taylor Swift’s Parents Are Seriously the Biggest Taylor Swift Fans Ever
Scott Kingsley Swift and Andrea Findlay proved to be the most hardcore of all Swifties, proudly looking on their daughter right by the sound booth when she opened the show Friday night. They even knew the words to ever song and sang along!
4. Brody Jenner Is Super Friendly
Not one to miss out on a good time, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star showed up at the iHeartRadio Music Festival’s Saturday night show with girlfriend Kaitlynn Carter and a few of their friends. Brody Jenner grabbed drinks for his entourage — and was overheard joking how “hookers are fun” with the bartender — before happily agreeing to pose for a few photos with fans.
Remember when the “Problem” collaborators were caught holding hands backstage at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards? Well, it was deja vu all over again as the twosome walked hand-in-hand around the backstage area!
6. Quiet in the Press Room
You’d think singers would like using a microphone right? Wrong! When Iggy Azalea and Lil Jon stopped by the press room backstage, both asked if they could just speak to reporters as opposed to using the mic.
7. Chris Martin Is One Chatty Cathy
Jennifer Lawrence wasn’t the only person the Coldplay frontman was hanging around Saturday night. The British singer also stopped to catch up with Alicia Keys and Orange Is the New Black star Dascha Polanco.
8. In Fact, Everyone Was Mingling
Nicki Minaj was seen walking around the backstage area with Jennifer Lopez’s ex, choreographer Casper Smart, while the One Direction boys hung out with 50 Cent and Train frontman Pat Monahan. You seriously could not take five steps without seeing a famous face!
9. The Most Popular Celebrity Was Actually a Dog
Canine actor Jiff the dog was certainly the most popular star backstage. Everyone was surrounding the pup to take pictures. Even Calum Hood of 5 Seconds of Summer stopped dead in his tracks to pet the celebrity canine while the rest of his bandmates continued to make their way down the hall to the VIP area.

10. Paramore Are All About Their Fans
Not only did Hayley Williams pull a fan out from the crowd during her Sunday night performance to sing “Misery Business” with her, but the frontwoman and her band were all about giving their supporters some love. A handful of lucky fans were pulled from the arena lobby that very night and taken backstage to meet the band. Um, lucky!
11. Lorde Travels in a Pack
The most secure person was by far Lorde, who was seen being escorted around the backstage area by a large team of handlers after performing onstage.
