Bye bye, Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson. Hello, Colin Farrell and Vince Vaughn.

HBO confirmed the two actors as the lead stars for True Detective’s second season on Tuesday. The announcement of Vaughn joining the cop drama came just days after it was revealed that Farrell would be starring on the show.

Justin Lin will direct the first two episodes of the eight-episode second season. Production will begin later this fall in California. The official logline from HBO reads: “Three police officers and a career criminal must navigate a web of conspiracy in the aftermath of a murder.”

According to the HBO press release, Farrell plays Ray Velcoro, “a compromised detective whose allegiances are torn between his masters in a corrupt police department and the mobster who owns him.” Meanwhile, Vaughn will portray Frank Semyon, “a career criminal in danger of losing his empire when his move into legitimate enterprise is upended by the murder of a business partner.”
