Sofia Vergara Flaunts Bikini Body for Shape, May Use Hypnosis to Kick Candy Craving
Speaking with Shape magazine, the Modern Family actress reveals she has turned over a new fitness leaf since moving to Los Angeles, saying that she’s becoming more aware of her body as she grows older.
“Everyone knows that I’ve never been into working out. I was always very happy with what I have,” she says of her curves. “Then I hit 40 and I started seeing a softness everywhere on my body.”
Vergara, who appears on the publication’s November 2014 issue in black bikini bottoms and a matching shirt, now attributes her toned body to the hours she’s put in building up strength through Pilates-inspired Lagree Method workouts using a Megaformer — a machine that has a system of springs and pulleys to work your entire body — and classes like Strengthen, Lengthen, Tone.
Though the 42-year-old says she often whips up one of Dr. Oz’s vegetable juices and refrains from eating processed foods, Vergara admits she still has trouble managing her sweet tooth.
“I heard about someone in LA who got hypnotized so they wouldn’t eat candy. I’m seriously looking into that because I’m obsessed,” she says. “When I do indulge, I exercise a bit harder the next day. My workout motto is really simple: No pain, no cake!”
