Sorry Boys! Taylor Swift is Too Busy With her Career, Girlfriends and Cats to Worry About Dating
“The last couple of years have been about defining life on my own terms,” she reveals. “Being on my own, prioritizing my girlfriends, my family and my music above everything else and trying things I never thought I’d try. It’s really been a liberating and freeing time.”
In fact, Swift’s new music really pays homage to her emotional state, making the change from love songs to songs about finding who you really are.
“Emotionally speaking, 1989 is not a heartbreak record. My music is derived from what’s happening in my personal life, and I haven’t had my heart broke,” she divulges to the magazine. “You’re not going to hear, oh, like, ‘boyfriend dissing.'”
Way to get out of that one, Harry Styles.
Instead, T. Swift is looking at her life through the eyes of a renewed woman, more focused on her friends and career than making headlines for dating and breakups.
“My group of friends are the most important thing to me right now,” she explains, likely speaking of good pals Lena Dunham, Jaime King, Selena Gomez and Lorde. “They are so fun and know me and like me for who I actually am.”
life at home is much more simple than trying to date around with a million photogs capturing her every move.
“I’m not going to compromise the happiness and independence that I’ve found for just anybody. The idea of a date gives me a partial panic attack! It includes 40 paparazzi cameras shooting through windows at us, and that’s not relaxing or alluring for me,” she explains. “That makes me want to crawl under the couch and hide! But I’m fine! I have two cats. That’s all I need.”
But would she ever think about getting back in the game any time soon?
“It would take an astonishing human for me to even consider getting back into a relationship. It would take something really, really, really, really different—a kind of a one-in-a-million person for me to face all that,” she says. “I don’t have any kind of idea who I’d want to be with, because I don’t have any pieces missing from my life right now. I’m not looking for anything to complete. I think that’s a nice place to be.”
