Kerry Washington Reveals Jennifer Lopez Taught Her How to Dance

Actress stuns on the red carpet two months after giving birth to daughter.
It’s hard to imagine Jenny from the Block teaching Olivia Pope how to get down on the dance floor (especially since Pope hates to dance), but guess what? It happened.

Kerry Washington revealed that she and Jennifer Lopez grew up in the Bronx down the street from one another.  They both attended the same Boys & Girls Club–where J. Lo showed off her moves to Kerry for the first time.

In an interview with Yahoo, Kerry recalls,  “We had this amazing dance teacher, Larry, and Jennifer actually used to substitute when Larry wasn’t around.”

She continues, “You wouldn’t know it from my build, but Jennifer taught me how to dance.  And I remember when she left the Boys Club because she was leaving New York to go to L.A. to try and make it big and we were all like, ‘Oh my gosh.'”

But J. Lo wasn’t the only famous face Washington grew up with.  During an interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in August, the Scandal star revealed she went to school with Gwyneth Paltrow, too!

“I was in an a Capella group in high school,” she said.  “It was a nine-girl a Capella singing group.  We called ourselves Triple Trio. And when I was in junior high school I really wanted to be in Triple Trio because there was this really amazing senior named Gwyneth Paltrow, and she was president of Triple Trio. So I really wanted to be president of Triple Trio one day. And then I was co-president of Triple Trio one day. My shining honor!”

Little did Washington know she’d be joining her famous friends in the spotlight one day!
