Don’t be expecting Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden to be heading down the aisle just yet.

Despite being seen with a ring on that finger, the actress says she’s not in a hurry to wed the Good Charlotte rocker. In fact, Diaz isn’t even thinking about getting hitched altogether.

“I’m not looking for a husband or marriage or not not looking for that stuff,” she tells Marie Claire, explaining that being married isn’t the ultimate goal. “I’m living, not thinking what I should or shouldn’t be doing with my life.”

According to the 42-year-old, becoming a mother also isn’t the be-all, end-all. If she is to have kids, she wants it to come naturally without any pressure from anyone else.

She explains to the publication, “We live in a society where everyone has kids, so they want other people to have kids. There is this culture that says celebrities are supposed to be just like us, so people think, ‘I have children, why doesn’t she?’ But I’m not going to do something because it’s expected.”

“If a family happens, then it happens,” Diaz, whose famous exes include Justin Timberlake, Jared Leto, and Alex Rodriguez. “If children come to me, then I would do that, but I’m not someone who feels like she has to do something because it’s expected.”

For the Annie star, her easy-going attitude on life is also applied on the projects she chooses — especially when it comes to taking it all off for the cameras.

“People have seen my butt. I’ve shown the top of my butt, the bottom of my butt,” she says. “I’m not opposed to doing nudity, as long as it’s part of the story. I’ll do whatever has to get done if it’s the right thing.”

The November 2014 issue of Marie Claire is on stands Oct. 21.
