Ed Sheeran Has Forgiven Ellie Goulding for Cheating With Niall Horan
As you may have heard, Ed Sheeran’s “Don’t” details an unfaithful girlfriend’s fling with one of his best mates. Though the singer has never actually confirmed who the song is about, many have speculated that the track is about Sheeran’s ex, Ellie Goulding, and her alleged romp in the hay with his One Direction BFF Niall Horan while they were all “staying on the same fucking hotel floor.”
Well, whoever the song was for will be glad to know that the red-headed crooner has forgiven them for their infidelity.
Speaking with The Sun, Sheeran admits that he’s moved on from the betrayal.
“I got over the anger the moment I wrote the song. It’s a song that came at the time that I needed to write. That’s the end of it,” he says. “I’m grateful I could get a song out of it, to be honest. I don’t feel it’s about anyone anymore, I’m not attached to that.”
He adds, “The moment you attach to someone to a song it becomes more difficult to sing every night.”
