Billy Crystal's Tribute

Last night at Game 5 of the World Series in San Francisco, Robin Williams’ children ZakCody, and Zelda honored their late father with longtime family friend Billy Crystal.

Just before the SF Giants took on the Kansas City Royals, Zak Williams, 31, threw out the ceremonial first pitch, while Billy Crystal played catcher behind home plate in front of thousands of smiling fans – of both the late actor-comedian and the Giants.

In a statement issued to the SF Giants, Robin’s children said “We are honored to be here in support of the tribute to our father, someone who loved his hometown and especially the giants. For all of us, it is a tremendous delight and a little surreal to throw out the ceremonial first pitch of a World Series game for our team to our dad’s best friend.”

Zak tweeted:

The touching clip below shows the video that was played for the crowed in tribute to the late actor and comedian – a mix of William’s beloved films with his visits to various Giants games – followed by an enthusiastic Zac throwing out the first pitch to Crystal. His siblings, clad in tribute Williams jerseys, watched from the side.

Williams was a long-time fan of the San Francisco Giants, having lived in San Francisco up until his passing and often attending home games.

Last week, daughter Zelda, 25, got a tattoo in honor of her father.
