Nicole Kidman opened up to Ellen Degeneres yesterday about husband Keith Urban’s love and support after the sudden passing of her father.

“I recently lost my father,” Nicole said, “and to have my husband be…just step up in that way it makes me cry. He is amazing.”

On her appearance at “The Ellen Degeneres Show” airing October 30th, Nicole Kidman, 47, was very sentimental about her partner, 47-year-old country music star Keith Urban.

She told Ellen “I have to say. I love saying this because [Keith] should be just adored. He has been so good to me for 9 years, but for the last sort of month. When you have your partner who just literally carries you through a tough time. And he’s been amazing. To me.”

Kidman’s father, a renowned clinical psychologist, died in a tragic fall last month in Singapore while visiting Kidman’s sister.

The Oscar winning actress then thanked fans for their support, saying “Everybody loses their parents. It’s awful. I am sorry to bring everybody down, but I am trying to navigate through something now…I’m amazed when people reach out, because it’s an awkward thing at times, but to have people go, ‘I’m so sorry for your loss,’ the power of that and even a note or anything. I’ve gotten so much love from people.”

They also discussed Keith’s romantic love letters, which they exchange every day that they’re apart.
