The world can now rest easy knowing that Jessie J and Ariana Grande will not be ruining re-recording Brandy and Monica’s iconic “The Boy Is Mine” as a duet for the millennials.

Speaking with The Mirror, Jessie J denies rumors that she has signed on for such a Herculean task of remaking the classic collaboration, explaining that the rumors are absolutely “not true.” Whew.

“Neither of us have agreed,” she says. “Sadly people are believing it. I spoke to Brandy and I was like, ‘No, it’s not happening.’ Monica and Brandy are the best.”

Previously, producer Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins announced a new “20th anniversary project” that will feature covers of songs from his career, including that Brandy and Monica duet that he produced.
