Joni Mitchell Doesn’t Want Taylor Swift to Play Her in a Biopic

Denied.

Though word has that Taylor Swift is currently attached to the planned adaptation Joni Mitchell biopic Girls Like Us, the Canadian singer-songwriter is presumably doing everything in her power to stop that from happening. In fact, in recent interview with The Sunday Times, Mitchell says her body physically rejected the idea of Swift playing her in a movie.

Here’s her full cutthroat, tell-it-like-it-is quote:

I squelched that! I said to the producer, ‘All you’ve got is a girl with high cheekbones.’

Oof. Harsh.

Mitchell adds that the film’s source material, based on Sheila Weller’s book of the same name, is “just a lot of gossip.”

“You don’t have the great scenes,” the 71-year-old says. “There’s a lot of nonsense about me in books, assumptions, assumptions, assumptions.”

All in all, it’s kind of safe to say that Mitchell is basically like, “LOL no,” to this whole project.
