FKA Twigs: Robert Pattinson Is “The Man That I Love”
The British singer, who was thrusted into the spotlight after news got out that she was dating the Twilight actor, opens up about her love life in a recent interview with The Guardian’s magazine, The Observer. Explaining about the difficult aspects in maintaining privacy while seeing one of the photographed actors this day and age, FKA Twigs says she’s willing to endure the hounding paparazzi because she truly loves Pattinson.
“That side of my life [the paparazzi] is nothing to do with me. That’s, like… That is the… side of life of the man that I love,” she muses. “And… when that started happening I had to… Because that is the opposite of who I am as a person, and it was weird.”
She continues, “Then I had to sit back and have a conversation with myself and I had to say: that is something really horrible. No, not horrible, I don’t find it horrible, it’s something that’s very challenging. I look uncomfortable because I am uncomfortable. But then it’s, like, is this person in my life worth that? And he is, without question. Do you know what I mean? In comparison to how happy I am. And how I feel with him. It’s 100 percent worth it.”
“It’s weird, I know that’s not really because of me or what I’m doing,” she said of constantly being in the public eye while dating Pattinson, 28. “The positivity that I get from [my relationship] makes the more challenging aspects … very worth it.”
FKA Twigs and Pattinson first met backstage at one of her concerts. Pattinson reportedly fell in love with her music and was introduced to the singer by longtime friends Sienna Miller and Tom Sturridge. Since making their relationship public, Pattinson joined Twigs on the first leg of her tour, taking her shopping around Paris before being spotted backstage at her show.
