J. Cole Shades Iggy Azalea, Justin Timberlake and Eminem for Being White

Iggy vs. Snoop
Snoop continues to post mean things about the female emcee.
A new track from J. Cole’s upcoming album Forest Hills Drive was leaked online today, causing some major controversy–not because it was leaked, but because it basically calls out “white people” for snatching black artists’ “sound.”

The track “Fire Squad” throws major shade at several artists, including Iggy Azalea, Eminem, Justin Timberlake and Macklemore, for appropriating black culture in their music (according to Cole).

The song’s controversial verse, the rapper says: “History repeats itself and that’s just how it goes / Same way that these rappers always bite each others flows / Same thing that my n*gga Elvis did with rock ‘n’ roll / Justin Timberlake, Eminem, and then Macklemore.”

Cole continues, “While silly n*ggas argue over who gone snatch the crown / Look around my n*gga, white people have snatched the sound.” He adds, “This year I’ll probably go to the awards diapered down / Watch Iggy win a Grammy as I try to crack a smile.”

Both Azalea and Macklemore have been highly criticized this year for taking home major hip hop awards over black artists whose work was widely considered more impressive.

However, Cole cover his back by admitting, “I’m just playin’, but all good jokes contain true sh*t.”
