Misty Upham Died of Blunt-Force Injuries: Report
A Seattle medical examiner has concluded that Misty Upham–best known for her roles in August: Osange County and Django Unchained–died of blunt-force injuries to her head and torso.
However, the manner by which the actress died is still undetermined.
Upham went missing on October 5, and her body was found by a search party almost two weeks later at the bottom of a 150-ft ravine.
While the cause of the blunt-force injuries is still unknown, the 32-year-old actress’ father Charles Upham had revealed that she wasn’t taking her bipolar disorder medication, leaving her prone to depression, panic attacks and thoughts of suicide.
Auburn police believe that trauma was caused by a fall because there’s no indication of foul play. Meanwhile, Upham’s family blames officials, saying they believe Misty died while running away from police. They released a statement saying Auburn officials refused to help.
The investigation is still underway.
