Kathy Griffin ‘Will Not be Holding Back’ on Fashion Police in Honor of Joan Rivers

Joan Rivers' fortune will be left to family, charities, friends, staff
Kathy Griffin, who will soon be the new host of Fashion Police, said she will be honoring the late Joan Rivers by giving celebs her honest (most likely brutal) truth.

Kathy knows she has some very great, legendary shoes to fill, and spoke to Jimmy Kimmel about her upcoming undertaking – not without giving him some honest, but arguably sensible, fashion advice as well!

Appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live Tuesday, December 9th, the 54-year-old comedienne revealed, “This was a job that was held by our dear friend Joan Rivers. I understand I have some very, very large shoes to fill.”

“In her honor, I will not be holding back,” Griffin added. “I am giving no passes, I am going to let people have it, I’m gonna bring the hammer down.”

Kathy then let Jimmy have it, critiquing his generic, albeit Gucci, suits saying,

“You might want to up your game! I’m tired of the same suit every time. I get it. It’s Gucci, it fits well — yawn! Give me some sparkle! Give me a fig leaf! I mean, take a risk for god’s sake. Don’t just show up again looking nice-ish. Give me something. The people want it!”

The eponymous, quick witted, smart and simply hilarious Joan Rivers passed away too soon at the age of 81 on September 4, 2014, following complications in surgery. She was the host of Fashion Police since she created the show in 2010, alongside co-hosts and friends Giuliana Rancic, Kelly Osbourne, and George Kotsiopoulos.

Joan’s daughter Melissa Rivers handpicked Kathy (a longtime friend of Joan’s) to replace her late mother. Also joining the cast is stylist and writer Brad Goreski, who will be replacing George.

The 2015 season will have a count of 17 episodes, rather than being aired weekly, and will premiere on January 12, 2015.
