This Week’s Instant Follow Friday Is Dedicated to Drake and His Feuds, His Mom, and His Cute Selfies
Drake is no stranger to feuds (whether it’s girls or music). He may or may not be sleeping with the (ex-) girlfriends of other rappers (Chris Brown re: Rihanna and Karrueche Tran), and he just got in a scuffle with Diddy over a Grammy nominated beat, which culminated in a physical brawl at Art Basel and landed Drake in the hospital for a dislocated shoulder.
And yet, in the midst of it all, Drake is still as cool as a cucumber. What’s his deal?!
Breezy and Drizzy already had torrid history between them – brawling at a Soho nightclub circa 2012, the never-ending Rihanna love triangle – but most recently they were both featured on Nicki Minaj’s song “Only”, and seemingly had patched things up.
That is, until Chris and on-off girlfriend Karrueche Tran broke up. Chris took to his Instagram to put Karrueche on blast and called out Drake in the process, saying: “I was locked up for damn near 4 months and only got 1 visit from you while u was hosting parties and taking secret trips to Toronto, going on dates with Drake!”
Chris has since apologized to Karrueche.
And now to wind in the “my enemy’s enemy is my friend” thing, Tyga and Drake don’t get along either. Tyga told Vibe magazine, “I don’t like Drake as a person. He’s just fake to me. I like his music; you know what I’m saying? I think his music is good, but we’re all different people. We were forced together and it was kinda’ like we were forcing relationships together. It is what it is. But I been friends with Chris Brown for like six years. That’s my real genuine friend. We hang out all the time. He lives up the street from me, so we don’t just do music we hang.”
The two rappers had that confusing Instagram shading period of their lives involving Tyga’s rumored but too-bad-she’s-underage girlfriend, Kylie Jenner, and Tyga’s ex, Blac Chyna. Basically, Drake and Blac Chyna were getting flirty on Instagram, Tyga didn’t like it and said some things he later deleted, and then Drake posted a pic of him and Kylie in response.
As far as Drake’s scuffle with Diddy, the two have allegedly been feuding for months - all because of the song ‘0 to 100’! Diddy claims Drake was being disrespectful, and stole the song out from underneath him. This past weekend in Miami, Diddy punched Drake outside of a nightclub.
Lastly, we all know who Drake is really in love with: Nicki Minaj. His Instagram is proof of his flirtatious and thirsty ways, perhaps a very public attempt to get out of Nicki’s “friend-zone”.
Since his Diddy-brawl that sent him to the hospital, Drizzy has updated his social media like nothing happened. Often looking calm, cool and collected, Drake’s Instagram is consistently diverse content-wise, no matter what kind of drama is going on in his life.
For one, Drake is really nice to look at; and he’s looks amazing in a tuxedo. For another, it’s charming to see Drake’s sweet face smiling while he’s performing, playing, and partying.
Brawls and love triangles aside, Drake is just a cool guy who loves his mom and his friends (and his girl…if he were to have one). Honestly, he has a song called “Hold On, We’re Going Home” which is probably the best and the #1 thing anyone wants to hear after a long night out.
Plus, before his successful foray into the world of hip-hop, Drake used to play ‘Jimmy’ on teen drama Degrassi: The Next Generation, back when he lived in Canada and went solely by his birth name, Aubrey Graham (#neverforget). It’s no wonder his hosting gig on SNL was so good.
I remember everything…juss know.
