Sienna Miller Covers Vogue, Vows She Will Never Join Twitter
The 32-year-old actress is featured on the January 2015 cover of Vogue magazine and can also be seen in the film Foxcatcher alongside Channing Tatum and Mark Ruffalo, as well as American Sniper with Bradley Cooper.
Sienna chatted with Vogue about social media being too addictive to be part of.
The British actress joined Instagram at one point but deleted her account after only five days. It became much to addictive for her to handle.
“It was the most addictive thing, every morning I’d wake up and there would be a thousand more followers or whatever and there would be these amazing greetings like, ‘Welcome! We love you!’” she told Vogue. “I’d be inflated by this nonexistent, intangible love. I was like, ‘I need to get off this.’ Ultimately it leaves you feeling incredibly lonely. I know friends who are prolific on social media, and it gives them a lot of anxiety. That level of exposure…”
The mother-of-one is happy to lead her life with daughter Marlowe, two, and fiancé Tom Sturridge in private. And having been on the receiving end of significant media scrutiny when she dated fellow actor Jude Law, Sienna thinks having something like a Twitter account encourage that unwelcome attention.
“Tweeting. I find it weird, that word. It just sounds babyish. There’s something so ridiculous. It would be a minefield,” she added. “If someone attacked me, I definitely would retaliate.”
