With his lead role in BDSM movie Fifty Shades of Grey, Jamie Dornan is basically the new face of every middle-aged woman’s sexual fantasy.

That is a heavy burden to carry, so it’s understandable that “Mr. Grey” is a little scared of his “mad fans”, and is fearing for his life when he walks the red carpet at the movie’s premiere.

Jamie spoke to Details as their sexy February 2015 cover star.

The newly minted R-rated film opens in theaters on Valentine’s day weekend (Feb. 13, 2015), and is sure to be a heated affair with fans lining up to see Jamie play the role of the bondage loving billionaire.

The model turned actor expressed his concern to Details, saying quite dramatically (and with a laugh, we presume):

I almost don’t want to put this out there into the ether, but I fear I’ll get murdered, like John Lennon, by one of those mad fans at the premiere. Because a lot of people are very angry that I’m playing this character. And I’m a father now, and a husband. I don’t want to die yet.

The part originally went to Sons of Anarchy star Charlie Hunnam, who then dropped out because of scheduling conflicts.

But he added, “And when I do get murdered, people will say, ‘God, isn’t it haunting how he did that interview in Details magazine and predicted his own death on the red carpet?'”

As far as being a “sex symbol”, Jamie said

What does that even mean? When I think of sex symbols, I think of posters my two sisters had on their bedroom walls. What was he called? Luke Perry? Even then, the label was more definitive. There are so f*cking many young actors in that bracket now that it’s a bit of a hollow crown. You’d be hard-pressed to find an actor who isn’t a sex symbol somewhere.

Either way, don’t fret, Jamie. We’re sure you’ll be fine. After all, there’s talks of Fifty Shades movie sequels (for books two and three, all by author E.L. James), and one can only hope your junk will eventually make a future appearance.
