Kelly Clarkson Debuts Post-Baby Single, ‘Heartbeat Song’
Kelly Clarkson is back!
The singer returns with her first new music since the birth of her daughter River Rose. “Heartbeat Song” marks the first single from Clarkson’s next album, Piece by Piece, which is slated for a March release.
It’ll be the first non-holiday album from Clarkson since 2011’s Stronger. Additional singles were also released in 2012 as part of her first greatest hits compilation.
The song, which is very reminiscent of Jimmy Eat World’s “The Middle,” is a bass-led, driving tempo on the verses gives way to halving the speed for a fist-pumping chorus accented by synths.
“Heartbeat Song” was written by Clarkson, Kara DioGuardi, Audra Mae, and Jason Evigan and it was produced by Greg Kurstin, who also collaborated with her on “What Doesn’t Kill You (Stronger).”
