Mariah became a little emotional when confirming the news during her interview with Ellen DeGeneres.

“This is a special event for me. And again, I have to hope that the fans will enjoy this cause I’m gonna be performing, which was kind of inspired by my album Number 1’s and this is now the updated version with 18 of them. Hopefully other people will enjoy this. I’ve never done this before.”

TMZ reports that Mariah Carey is expected to hold her residency until Celine Dion returns either later this year or early next year.

Mariah did not provide any further details about her Las Vegas residency, such as any of the dates, ticket prices or even the amount of money that she is making from this lucrative deal.
