Johnny Depp has some strong feelings about all those actors who are turning into musicians.

Although he’s a guitarist himself and has dabbled playing with bands and musicians like Oasis, Marilyn Manson, and the Black Keys, it’s safe to say that “The Johnny Depp” band won’t be happening anytime soon.

The Sydney Morning Herald reported that at Johnny’s Berlin premiere of Mortdecai on Sunday, the actor put down celebs who use their fame (and fortune) to become successful musicians, saying “That whole idea for me is a sickening thing, it’s always just made me sick.”

About those actors who capitalize on their already secured fame, the 51-year-old actor added:

The kind of luxury now is, anybody with a certain amount of success, if you have a kind of musical being, you can go out and start a band and capitalize on your work in other areas…But I hate the idea, ‘Come see me play the guitar because you’ve seen me in 12 movies.’… It shouldn’t be [that way]. You want the people who are listening to the music to only be interested in the music.

He said he’s okay with those dabbling in music, adding “I’ve been very lucky to play on friends’ records, and it’s still going. Music is still part of my life…. But you won’t be hearing The Johnny Depp Band. That won’t ever exist.”

Hmm… we’re looking at you, Russell Crowe and Jared Leto (and several others)?

Meanwhile, on Jan. 19, Johnny and fiancée Amber Heard walked the Mortdecai London, UK red carpet together. Check out the gallery above!
