Instant Follow Friday: Katy Perry Prepares for the Puppy (and Super) Bowl

Katy Perry's Super Bowl performance will include topless dancing?!
Katy Perry is in the midst of readying herself for the Puppy Bowl and that other thing on Sunday (the 2015 Super Bowl XLIX), and from the looks of it, she’s cool, calm and collected.

The pop star will be performing the Super Bowl’s grand halftime show (Feb. 1, 2015), and other than Deflategate, all football fans (or rather, people who watch the Super Bowl for the selection of game-day food involved) can talk about is whether or not Katy’s going topless sometime during her performance.

Alas, we have to ask: in terms of shock factor, could a topless Katy Perry actually surpass her 2014 Halloween costume in which she dressed up as a cheeto (or giant orange turd, depending on how you see life)? In honor of Katy and the profound questions she’s raising for us, she’s featured in this week’s Instant Follow Friday (plus she’s super twitter-witty).

Katy’s Instagram is a mix of a couple things: all things cute (puppies and kittens), glitter (because duh), museums and art, and some fresh selfies just like you’d expect to see from the tongue-in-cheek pop star.

She comes off cool and casual, regardless of whether she’s high-rolling on a helicopter in the mountains somewhere or kicking back in a hammock. Truth be told, Katy might be a gospel singer turned “I Kissed a Girl”, glitter and unicorn loving wild child, but nevertheless she leads a pretty down to earth lifestyle.

Anyone who can fit art viewing into their busy schedule is a friend of mine; for example, Katy’s shared via Instagram her visits to James Turrell’s exhibition at the LACMA, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Mütter Museum, and the British Museum.

Finally, we all know that Katy has again started dating longtime love John Mayer, but the chemistry between her and Riff Raff is undeniable. The duo sure were the hottest couple at last year’s VMA’s where they sported matching denim ensembles à la Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears’s Canadian tuxedos at the 2001 VMA’s (#neverforget).

Justin and Britney performed at the Super Bowl halftime back in 2001, and thus we’ve come full circle in the world of pop.

Look out for her halftime performance during Sunday’s Super Bowl (Feb. 1, 2015), and be prepared for her surprise guest, a “throwback”.
