Things are getting pretty serious between Britney Spears and Charlie Ebersol.

The couple, who started dating last November, has been almost inseparable since making their relationship public. In a new interview with People, Ebersol, a television and film producer, opens about his budding romance with the famous pop star. According to him, being with the “Work Bitch” singer helps motivate him to become a better person.

“The best part of this relationship is when we spend time together,” he says, explaining that they’re “homebodies” who enjoy the little things. “The thing that I learned from my parents [NBC exec Dick Ebersol and actress Susan Saint James] was no matter how busy you are, home base is the single most important thing. As long as you’re centering back to home base and that’s the strongest magnet in your life, that everything else is okay.”

“We were getting pulled in a thousand different directions, and my favorite thing in the world – besides her – is hot chocolate,” he continues, recalling their romantic New Year’s Eve. “She just said, ‘Let’s just get hot chocolate and hang out.’ That was a perfect night for me. If that’s the rest of my life, then A) I will have emulated my parents, and B) I will be a very happy man.”

Spears, 33, most recently declared that she is in love with Ebersol, 32, at one of her Piece of Meresidency shows in Las Vegas. During a performance of “Me Against the Music,” the songstress stepped out wearing a bedazzled blazer reading “I <3 Charlie.”

And, for Ebersol, the feeling seems mutual.

He gushes about his girlfriend, “Honestly, the way that she treats people does make you look in the mirror and question how much you’re really giving to other people. Because she is a person who leads with her heart and treats people around her – who she knows and who she doesn’t know – better than you or I.”

“So it drives me every morning to want to get up and be better … It motivates me.”
