Garbage’s Shirley Manson Tells Kanye West to ‘Grow Up’ Following Beck Rant at Grammys

Grammy Rant
Kanye West pulls a Kanye West at the 2015 Grammy Awards.
Yes, the world is still talking about Kanye West and what he did at this year’s Grammy Awards.

The latest is from rocker Shirley Manson (of Garbage), who took to Facebook to write a little letter to Yeezy:

Dear Kanye West

It is YOU who is so busy disrespecting artistry.

You disrespect your own remarkable talents and more importantly you disrespect the talent, hard work and tenacity of all artists when you go so rudely and savagely after such an accomplished and humble artist like BECK.

You make yourself look small and petty and spoilt.

In attempting to reduce the importance of one great talent over another, you make a mockery of all musicians and music from every genre, including your own.

Grow up and stop throwing your toys around.

You are making yourself look like a complete twat.

Ps.I am pretty certain Beyonce doesn’t need you fighting any battles on her account. Seems like she’s got everything covered perfectly well on her own.

On Sunday, West pulled a near Imma Let You Finish moment when Beck got on stage to accept the award for Album of the Year, a prize the rapper thought should’ve gone to Beyoncé. Here he is talking about it on a post-show program hosted by none other than sister-in-law Khloe Kardashian.

Beck, who took home two other Grammys for his album Morning Phase, later told Us Weekly that he also thought Queen Bey was going to win.

“Come on, she’s Beyoncé!… You can’t please everybody, man. I still love [West] and yoncethink he’s a genius. I aspire to do what he does,” he said.

West continued with his rant on Monday morning after arriving at John F. Kennedy airport with his family, saying that the Grammys — not Beck — need to respect artistry.

“Beck knows that Beyoncé should’ve won. You know that… C’mon, I love him. But he [can’t] have Album of the Year,” he told TMZ.

West has yet to respond to Manson’s letter.
