Karlie Kloss may be hanging up her wings for good sooner than you think.
According to People, Taylor Swift‘s BFF, who has been an official Victoria’s Secret Angel since 2013 and walked in four of the brand’s fashion shows, will be parting with the lingerie company in the near future.
“Karlie is stepping down from her Angel duties,” a source says. “She’s got a busy but exciting year ahead and the decision came down to timing. She’ll be focusing on her modeling career, new business opportunities and NYU starting in the fall.”
“She’s loved working with Victoria’s Secret and appreciates all the amazing opportunities the brand has given her to grow as a model,” the source adds. “She’s adored working with everyone on the Victoria’s Secret team and all her fellow Angels.”
Kloss has also appeared in campaigns for Kate Spade New York, Joe Fresh, L’Oréal Paris, Neiman Marcus, Donna Karan, Jean Paul Gaultier and Coach. Aside from modeling, the 22-year-old plans to attend NYU’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study after fellow model Christy Turlington wrote the Chicago native a raving letter of recommendation.
“[It’s] something that I’ve wanted to do for a very long time,” Kloss recently told Vogue of her college plans. “I’ll still be working full-time … I’m incredibly ambitious and have lots of goals within my career that I’m not slowing down on anytime soon.”
