Michael Keaton Putting Away His Oscars Acceptance Speech Is The Saddest Video You’ll See All Day

Oscars 2015: The GIFs
The 87th Academy Awards as told in GIFs.

Oh, the feels!

As if watching The Imitation Game screenwriter Graham Moore recall his suicide attempt at the 2015 Academy Awards wasn’t a big enough tear-jerker moment already, this video of Birdman star Michael Keaton disappointedly putting away his Oscars acceptance speech will surely get the waterworks going.

In a blink-and-you’ll-miss moment during Sunday night’s broadcast, the 63-year-old is seen placing a piece of paper back into this pocket after Cate Blanchett announces Eddie Redmayne as this year’s winner of the Best Actor Oscar. As the young Brit, who won for his portrayal of Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything, rushes to the stage to collect, the camera pans over to the audience as Keaton scrambles to tuck what looks to be his speech under his arm to clap.

Don’t worry, Mikey. At least you’re in good company.
