While visiting Ellen this week, the Focus star proved that he’s still got it by rapping the iconic ditty during a commercial break. Naturally, the audience went wild over the throwback hit before Smith treated the crowd to a bonus performance of his 80s jam, “Summertime.”
During the actually interview, the actor also opened up about his marriage to Jada Pinkett-Smith, who he met at a Fresh Prince audition. Though the couple has been married since 1997, Smith said that he still needs to keep an eye out for his wife — especially now that she’s working with Hollywood hunks like Channing Tatum and Joe Manganiello in Magic Mike XXL.
“You know it was really interesting… because there were a lot of guys,” he joked. “There were a lot of famous people.”
In an earlier interview with The Sun, Smith opened up about how his marriage with the actress remained so strong for years.
“We had to shift the paradigm of the relationship — and we did, with our children and with our family,” he said. “There’s one relationship to have with people, and that’s friendship. So that’s a relationship in which you want what is best for them at all times and you’re willing to suffer for them to have the thing that is in their best interests.”
