Jennifer Lawrence and ‘Joy’ Director David O. Russell’s Huge Screaming Match
It’s claimed the argument broke out after Lawrence disapproved of the way the director had chosen to film a scene, and the two soon became embroiled in a nasty war of words.
A rep for Fox 2000, the studio behind the movie, has not denied the heated exchange, though alleges that the screaming was just method acting. The studio has stated that Russell was helping the actress riled up before shot an intense scene in which she had to shot at another actor.
Also, film producer Harvey Weinstein showed up on set to see Jennifer, but was asked to leave. “The studio rep says Harvey was told Tuesday (Feb. 24, 2015) things were moving at warp speed and his visit would be a distraction, but he showed up anyway… unannounced.”
Joy is based on a true story, as Lawrence portrays Joy Mangano, a struggling single mother who achieved enormous wealth after creating the Miracle Mop.
