Iggy Azalea Is Over Instagram, Quits Social Media Once and for All
Iggy Azalea has now made her exit from two social media platforms. First Twitter, and now Instagram, sadly.
On Thursday (March 5, 2015), the 24-year-old pop star actually went ahead and deleted her account without a word to fans. But by Friday, her account was reactivated and up and running by her team.
They posted this message to “Azaleans”:
The last post from Azalea herself – and the final straw – was to call out the paparazzi for violating her safe space and privacy, her home. She posted photos taken of her without her permission of her standing in front of her home, writing candidly:
This is me standing in front of my home, which has a 6ft high blacked out fence around it. No one should be made to feel like their own home is a prison because even your garden may be grounds for a photoshoot. I really just want to urge my fans to be aware of what you are enabling when posting these pictures. It is illegal to post images of someone in their home or property with a long range camera. I’m asking in the nicest way possible to please think twice about that. You’re home is supposed to be your place of peace. I just want mine to be that too same as everyone else.
Azalea left Twitter in February, writing “The Internet is the ugliest reflection of man kind there is” and “My management will tweet/run my accounts from today onwards with updates etc unless any message is signed -IA. Love you all. Peace out!”
Since then, she’s tweeted out only twice:
Now that she’s on a social media hiatus, the rapper is seemingly focusing all of her energy on her music. It was just announced that she’ll be performing “Trouble” with Jennifer Hudson at the Kids Choice Awards this year.
We hope Azalea’s been able to clear her head without the troubles of social media.
