‘Frozen 2′ Is Happening, You Guys

'Frozen Fever' Trailer
The Queen is back, y'all.

Fans and citizens of Arendelle, there’s going to be a Frozen sequel after all.

The official announcement was made at Disney’s annual meeting of shareholders Thursday morning by a bunch of important people, including Bob Iger (Chairman and CEO of the Walt Disney Company), John Lasseter (CCO of Walt Disney and Pixar), and Josh Gad, aka. Olaf.

Kristin Bell, who provide the voice for Princess Anna, announced the news on Twitter:

Frozen 2, the follow-up to the 2013 film that grossed some $1.2 billion worldwide and inspired enough parody videos to last eight lifetimes, will also reunite the Oscar-winning team of directors Chris Buck, Jennifer Lee, and producer Peter Del Vecho.

The Frozen 2 news comes just on the heels of the theatrical release of Frozen Fever, the seven-minute short film that will play before Disney’s new live-action Cinderella beginning Friday.

Here’s a new song from the short, aptly titled, “Making Today a Perfect Day,” because any day with Frozen news is a good day:

A release date for Frozen 2 is, as the film’s official Facebook announcement puts it, “on ice for now.”
