Philippines Group Wants One Direction to Take Drug Test Before Manila Concert Because the Boys Possibly Smoke ‘Mary Jane’

An anti-drug group in the Philippines is demanding that the boys of One Direction, who possibly smoke weed, take a drug test upon entering the country to prove their sobriety before their Manila concert on March 21 and March 22.

1D is scheduled to perform at the SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds back to back as part of the “On The Road Again” tour, but the Laban ng Pamilyang Pilipino organization doesn’t want the Philippine government’s Bureau of Immigration to allow the boys entrance until they each pass a drug test.

“This is for the welfare of their fans, mostly youth,” a representative said.

Last year, a video of Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson smoking what was believed to be a joint (if it looks like a joint and smells like weed…) in the back of a car was leaked, causing outcry.

The boys were in Peru on their “Where We Are Tour“, and even joked about their “contraband” and “Mary Jane” in the video, wondering if their police escort could “smell an illegal substance.”

The anti-drug group posted this message to their Facebook page, featuring a screenshot of Malik with the joint and writing, “NO DRUG TEST, NO ENTRY!”:

Fans of 1D worldwide are not having it though, and the hashtag “#StopTheDRUGTESTfor1DPH” has started trending on Twitter.

On Wednesday, the boys performed in Singapore, and are now headed to perform in Thailand and Hong Kong before reaching Manila.

In the same vein, Today Show host Matt Lauer was recently slammed by fans for speculating that Malik had a drug problem, asking the boys (sans Malik, who had a stomach bug), “There have been rumors of substance abuse…what’s going on,” to boos from the crowd.

The heartthrob was not happy back then. Now, fans won’t be happy if the boys aren’t allowed entrance into the Philippines and prevented from performing.
