‘Fashion Police’ Going on Hiatus (Until September)

Proud Quitters
Kelly and Kathy have each other's backs after 'Fashion Police.'

Days after Kathy Griffin turned in her Fashion Police shoes, E! has announced that the show will be taking a little break.

In a statement released Tuesday night (Mar. 17, 2015), the network states:

“E!’s comedy series Fashion Police is going on hiatus and will return in September. We look forward to taking this opportunity to refresh the show before the next awards season. Our talented co-hosts Giuliana Rancic and Brad Goreski, along with executive producer Melissa Rivers, will continue their roles as we evolve the show into its next chapter for the legions of Fashion Police fans around the world.” [via Variety]

E!’s move comes after a much publicized shakeup of Fashion Police faces. Following Rancic’s controversial comments on singer and actress Zendaya’s hair at the 87th Academy Awards, Kelly Osbourne quit the show. The five-year Fashion Police vet later broke her silence on The Talk, saying “it was the five best working years of my life. I am so grateful for the experience.”

On Mar. 12, Griffin, who had just joined the show’s fifth season, quit after seven episodes. (And she’s still talking about her departure this week). The funny woman was hired as a replacement for Joan Rivers, who died last September.

“There is plenty to make fun of in pop culture without bringing people’s bodies into it,” Griffin said in a lengthy statement.
