Nick Jonas Empathizes with Zayn Malik on His Decision to Leave One Direction
On Wednesday, he tweeted:
Sometimes you have to make hard choices in order to find your true happiness.
— Nick Jonas (@nickjonas) March 25, 2015
It’s always tough. You know, there’s never an easy time to make a decision like that. I commend him for doing what he feels is right for him and you got to stay true to yourself. I feel for the One Direction fans and I hope they’re all doing okay but you know, it’s one of those things that sometimes it’s just time to close a chapter.
The Jonas Brothers (consisting of Nick and his two older brothers, Kevin, 27, and Joe, 25) split in October 2013. Nick subsequently pursued a solo career and has been super successful with it.
Entertainment Tonight also asked Jonas his opinion on the Malik and One Direction news, and he told them,
It’s a lot of pressure. I think that my situation was a little unique. I had family with me, and I feel like it is a tough world already, and I was thankful to have family and walk through it with them. But it’s all about how you balance it, and trying to implement a few moments of normalcy and quietness in a really crazy ride. I feel for their fans, and totally understand him as well, and what he’s going through, but all the best to all of them.
Jonas is rehearsing for the Kids’ Choice Awards, which he’s hosting this weekend. One Direction is nominated for Favorite Music Group but unfortunately will not be in attendance.
