You Could Have Seen Jon Hamm (and His Penis) in ‘Gone Girl’

Jon Hamm Talks Rehab
The 'Mad Men' star opens up about his recent 30-day treatment.

This role totally would’ve been up Jon Hamm’s pants alley.

Page Six is reporting that the handsome actor was actually up for the role of Nick Dunne in Gone Girl, but had to turn down the job because of Mad Men obligations.

“Matt would not let Jon out of his contract to do Gone Girl,” according to a source. “Jon was really upset about it at the time — and is still upset, because he’s thinking about the future of his career as Mad Men comes to a close.”

“Matt” is of course Mad Men creator Matthew Weiner, who, along with the cast, will bid adieu to the series next month when the final episodes air on AMC.

Ben Affleck eventually took on the role of Nick (and showed a smidgen of his penis on the big screen), opposite Rosamund Pike in the David Fincher film.

Hamm, who’s had supporting roles in The Town (trivia: directed by and starring Affleck), Bridesmaids, and Friends with Kids, most recently starred in the Disney sports drama, Million Dollar Arm. The 44-year-old actor will also lend his voice to this summer’s Despicable Me spinoff, Minions.
