Kristen Wiig and Will Ferrell Secretly Made a Campy Lifetime Movie, ‘A Deadly Adoption’

In some of the most unexpected news of the day, Kristen Wiig and Will Ferrell reportedly made a Lifetime movie entitled A Deadly Adoption.

Yes, you heard that right. The legendary SNL alums play a husband and wife in an adoption gone wrong in the already filmed made-for-TV, dramatic-thriller.

The Hollywood Reporter writes that the movie will be released sometime around early summer. In the film, Wiig and Ferrell will play a successful couple housing a pregnant woman (played by Jessica Lowndes of 90210), in hopes of adopting her baby.

Obviously, something bad will happen (it’s called a “deadly” adoption, after all…).

THR notes the 2-hour long movie “is described as campy and fun and a contemporary wink at the genre that comes as Lifetime is poised to mark the 25th anniversary of its TV movie business.”

Ferrell is reportedly a fan of Lifetime films and has always wanted to film one. He’s an executive producer of A Deadly Adoption along with Adam McKay’s Gary Sanchez Productions.

Directed by Rachel Lee Goldenberg, it’s based off of a script from Andrew Steele’s IFC miniseries, The Spoils of Babylon, which both Wiig and Ferrell starred in back in 2013.

Questions we have: how much laughter will this campy film (and these two comedians) be host to? Will this be the best Lifetime movie ever? Will we actually tune in to Lifetime for once?!

Lastly, this isn’t some kind of April Fool’s joke, right?
