ABC Announces ‘The Bachelorette’ Premiere Date: Find Out When Kaitlyn Bristowe and Britt Nilsson Will Meet Their Fate

And the countdown begins! ABC has finally released the premiere date of the next Bachelorette — the first ever season with two lead ladies — and it’s coming up fast!

'The Bachelor' Season Finale
Chris Soules is no longer a bachelor...

On May 18, the most controversial season of The Bachelorette will kick off with Kaitlyn Bristowe and Britt Nilsson meeting their 25 potential suitors. This group of men will be the ones who decide which lady they want to pursue the rest of the season.

News of the double-bachelorette was announced during the After the Final Rose Ceremony, much to the audience’s surprise. Not only was Kaitlyn most certainly the fan favorite, but they’ve never forced two of show’s leading men or women to compete against each other.

When Kaitlyn first learned of the news, she admitted,”I think what went through my mind was, ‘That’s not ideal.'”

And her thoughts were echoed throughout the entire Bachelor nation. Many people found the plot twist sexist. In fact, the show’s previous main man Sean Lowe called it “downright degrading.”

Needless to say, things will definitely get interesting for Team Kaitlyn and Team Britt when The Bachelorette premieres on May 18 at 8 p.m.
